Through some personal experiences with addiction and more significantly witnessing its devastating impact on others, in my late 20s it finally dawned on me to visit a nearby AA meeting. Observing the members bravely standing together to recite the Serenity Prayer left an indelible impression on me. In particular, witnessing their humility as well as their courage to be open about their struggles in a way to be helpful for others was an unforgettable moment. With that experience, it made me wonder how we might arrange a journey so others could find moments of serenity in their day.
