Get to know our voiceover artist: Lizan Raquel Gonzalez

Updated: Dec 21, 2021

My name is Lizan Raquel Gonzalez. I go by many nicknames, but I am only one person, though I wear many hats. I am a proud 35-year-old Mexican American woman living on the South Side of Chicago. My parents migrated from Mexico when they were in their teens. They became citizens of this country, and were very hard working people with values and morals that they instilled in us: “Work hard, stay humble and

confident.” Today I am a mother of two wonderful children, and also a supervisor. However, I expand into a world where my voice is my art form, and to use it as such has gotten me here today.

At the age of 10, I found love in creative writing, spoken poetry and singing. It has lasted through every year thereafter. For the past four years, I have had the honor of working with Jonas Hart Ginsburg at Digital Tapestries as a film voiceover artist– an opportunity that has allowed self expression in my life. Digital Tapestries allows me to use my voice to help send many messages, and invoke feelings of nostalgia in both the viewer and in myself. I hope to continue working in this area of therapy, for I find it vital in these times, and every time thereafter… a beautiful medicine. Being a vocalist for music and film has been the most exciting opportunity in my life.
